Short Bio
I am currently a Researcher at the Institute for Applied Mathematics and Information Technologies (IMATI) at National Research Council (CNR). I have been Senior Post-doc at the Institute for Biomedical Research and Innovation (IRIB) at CNR (Messina, Italy) and a 3-years Postdoctoral Fellow at the Machine Learning Genova Center (MaLGa) at the University of Genoa (Genoa, Italy), working on machine learning and deep learning models for neuroscience.
I hold bachelor's and master's degrees in Mathematics from the University of Bologna and the University of Turin, respectively. During these years, I developed an interest in applications in medicine and I joined the Signal Processing Team at CEA/CLINATEC (Grenoble, France) to work on machine learning models for the brain-computer interface as part of my master's thesis.
I earned a Ph.D. in Translational Neuroscience and Neurotechnologies at the Italian Institute of Technology (Ferrara, Italy), where I developed speech recognition systems for patients with speech disorders.
My current interests include neuroscience and neurodegenerative diseases, medical imaging of the brain, models for disease diagnosis and prognosis.
